Hi folks registration for the AUSKF (national) and SWKIF (Regional) for 2019 is fast approaching. Registration will begin on 3/15/19. Please visit: www.unitedstateskendo.com to register.
This annual requirement for all kendo participants in the USA, allows you to participate in national, international sanctioned events, and is required to apply for grading or competitions. Ranks attributed through the AUSKF are the only kendo grades in america recognized internationally.
Unlike some martial-arts, kendo examinations are not conducted by day-to-day instructors, it is done on a federation level, by a panel of judges either regional, national, or international at a designated testing sites. Lastly this registration insures you and your dojo are covered under the All United States Kendo Federation insurance program..

Hi folks, we have a very special class planned for 1/15 . In light of the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre, and other gun related violence over the country. Lindsay sensei and I thought it would be a good time to address safety in the Dojo and go over some training for worse case scenario situations.
Our guest speaker is Mr. Drew Diamond, the current Director of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa. He previously had been director of security for Union Public Schools, As well as a former police chief for the Tulsa police department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and for the Police Executive Research Forum in Washington, D.C. Please make your best efforts to attend the lecture. We will be having him come talk to us, during regular class time.
