This annual requirement for all kendo participants in the USA, allows you to participate in national, international sanctioned events, and is required to apply for grading or competitions. Ranks attributed through the AUSKF are the only kendo grades in america recognized internationally. Unlike some martial-arts, kendo examinations are not conducted by day-to-day instructors, it is done on a federation level, by a panel of judges either regional, national, or international at a designated testing sites. Lastly this registration insures you and your dojo are covered under the All United States Kendo Federation insurance program..
